Details

Lamahatta has been developed as an eco-tourism place in late 2012. Lamahatta is located at an altitude of about 5,700 feet and at a distance of 23kms from Darjeeling hill town (which takes a little over an hour by car). Although it’s just a small village where farming and cattle rearing are the main sources of livelihood, Lamahatta is well connected by the Darjeeling-Kalimpong state highway. Actually, you get magnificent views from several different places in the garden. What can you see? Probably some of the best that any place in Darjeeling district offers on a clear day you can see the snow peaks of Kanchenjunga, Tiger Hill, Namchi of Sikkim, Darjeeling town and its landscapes, and the Rangeet river flowing below. Overall, Lamahatta offers a serene, quiet and romantic environment. It’s ideal for honeymooners or couples who would like to spend some quiet and intimate time with nature, take some nature walks through the maze of pine forest, enjoy the beautiful garden & the views around as well as several other natural attractions nearby. The main inhabitants here are tribes like Sherpas, Yalmos, Tamangs, Bhutias and Dukpas.

Who’s it for? Intermediate fun-loving mountain bikers, mountain biking families and people who might be doing their first multi-day trip. Trails are also adaptable for serious bikers with a short amount of time in Darjeeling. Great for Expats looking for a short getaway.

Fitness Factor:- Weekend riders accepted on this one.

Skill Factor:- Any confident cyclist can do this trail, there are many trail options, so we can tailor the ride to suit your skill level. Still, you should have ridden a bike more than a few times to be able to enjoy it.
